His academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Tsing-Hua University, Taiwan. He further honed his academic prowess in the UK, acquiring two Master's degrees from the University of Warwick and a PhD in Air Traffic Management from Imperial College London. His doctoral thesis on the European Air Traffic Network underscores his commitment to innovative solutions in air traffic systems.
Dr. Pien's career commenced in the Taiwan Air Force, where he developed significant skills in foreign affairs and electronic warfare as an Intelligence and Logistics Officer. He notably contributed to managing international military relations, especially with the United States.
In academia, Dr. Pien has distinguished himself as an Assistant Professor at National Defense University, Taiwan, and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at National Taiwan Normal University and Shih-Chien University. His expertise extends to International Strategic Studies and English language instruction, showcasing his diverse instructional capabilities.
